Residential
Each piece of Residential Architecture as designed by William A. Smith, III Architects must respond to several fundamental design principles.
- It must be representative of the clients aesthetic desires.
- It must satisfy the clients program needs.
- It must be responsive to the surrounding site/environmental conditions.
- It must recognize and be complimentary with adjacent architecture.
- It must fit within the architectural vernacular of its surrounding community.
- It must, at the same time, make a statement of its own.
In abiding by these principles, Mr. Smith has been able to create a variety of stunning pieces of art/architecture.
From a dramatic entry element, to an emphasis on the vertical, to the development of three dimensional space, each residence makes a bold statement while addressing the clients needs.
It is often said that “a man’s home is his castle”. As suggested by William A. Smith, III’s “alter ego”, (Castles and Other Things), Mr. Smith has successfully created a “castle” for each of his clients.
